Half Day charters are 4 hours of fishing, not including running times to and from grounds. Four of the five species of salmon are targeted here in the Ketchikan area; Kings, cohos, pinks and chums. The different species will be more abundant depending upon what time of the summer it is.
All charters include light snacks and beverages. Alcoholic beverages are welcome but must be supplied by clients. All gear and tackle is supplied. Half day charter are recommended for cruise ship passengers due to the duration of port time. Rates are $135/person with a $400 boat minimum. Children are the same rate as adults.
Full Day charters are 6 hours of fishing. A full day charter allows for the flexibility to run to more distant locations. It is recommended that all halibut charters are booked for full day. Bag limits for Kings change yearly so please call ahead for specific limits or consult the Alaska Department of Fish and Games web site or call 907-225-2859. Fish licenses can be purchased on board and start at $20 for a day license. King tags are an additional $10.
 General Visitor Information
You will fish from a 37' fiberglass vessel. The vessel has a onboard head and comfortable salon area to get out of the weather while fishing. We are limited by state regulation to fishing 6 rods for King salmon and only one rod per person. The vessel is also limited to carrying 6 passengers. This provides a personal experience for you. We primarily troll for the salmon using down riggers. The vessel is equipped with coast guard regulated safety equipment and the guide holds a coast guard 50 ton master license. |
